Barbara Pianca

I began my artistic studies in Bergamo attending courses in drawing, painting and sculpture at the Art School Manzù and the University of Bergamo. I graduated in Sculpture BA (Hons) from the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, where I achieved a first class degree in 2013. I was actively involved in various artistic festivals, projects, symposiums and workshops. In 2010 I took part in the Festival of Contemporary Young Art “Amandolarte” at Amandola (FM). In 2012 I participated in the Construction of Contemporary Art ” Il mare tra le genti ” in Montelupo Fiorentino (Florence). I participated in the XIII Symposium of stone carving sculpture “Premio Antonio Berti” in San Piero a Sieve (Florence). I did an internship as a sculptor at the Studio d’Arte Corsanini in Carrara (MS). Between 2013-2015 I participated in various workshops of ceramic firing of Ceramiche Incantate at Incisa (Florence). In 2016 I took part in the XIV International Symposium of stone carving sculpture “De Stenen Poort” in Borkel en Schaft (Eindhoven, Nederlands). Since 2015 I have been teaching sculpture and pottery at the Midlands Art Centre in Birmingham, UK.

PRIZES

2014, First Prize in Section Promises – Young Artists Academy of Fine Arts – Italian Artists – Sculpture. She won with the opera ” Fluttuando tra precipizi “, a work acquired by the Public Permanent Collection of the Chamber of Commerce of Vibo Valentia
